InterContinental® Miami Digital Arts Program
The InterContinental® Miami is an icon of the Miami skyline, a true expression of art and luxury, designed by the world renowned architect Pietro Bellucchi. It is a world-class hotel that sits in the heart of Miami’s major destinations: at the crossroads of Downtown Miami and South Beach, Brickell’s Financial District and Downtown Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District, and now it is poised to be the center point of Miami’s Arts and Technology scene.
The Hotel greets 500,000 people each year, guests and locals, all passing through the Grand Lobby and perhaps one of the most significant sculptures in the country, The Spindle, by Henry Moore. Exposing people to the Arts is not a new initiative for the InterContinental® Miami; it is the basis by which its very foundation was built. The vision was present thirty years ago when slabs were being cut, numbered and shipped from Italy to the mouth of the Miami River. As the Hotel was built and assembled by number, the 70-ton marble Spindle sculpture was commissioned for the Hotel, after which a Grand Lobby was built around it.
This artistic vision is once again being brought to life. A new digital arts space is being built through innovative design and technology installations being included in the InterContinental® Miami’s renovation and relaunch activities, facilitating the creation of the InterContinental® Miami Digital Arts Program.
The Digital Arts Program is set to become an integral component of Miami’s Creative Industries, fostering and promoting the artistic and cultural assets of the community. We believe the evolution of technology is not meant to isolate, but rather to enhance creativity, innovation, collaboration and social interaction. There is no better place than at the heart of Miami, the InterContinental® Miami.

Ultra Music Festival 3D Mapping of InterContinental® Miami, by Red Bull Mind Meld
One hundred sixty-five thousand fans who got down to the sounds of electronic artists Tiesto, Avicii, David Guetta and others, at Miami's ULTRA Music Festival last weekend did not believe their eyes when they looked to the sky as the "Red Bull Mind Meld" experience transformed the iconic InterContinental® Miami into a sea of video projections in one of the largest-ever USA displays of innovative projection mapping technology.
One second, the InterContinental® Miami appeared completely normal; the next, bricks broke free and started tumbling down. Soon the entire facade came crumbling to the ground, revealing gyrating, hypnotic line art that throbbed to the techno music blasting at its base. Minutes later, a gyrating psychedelic mural, created by Integrated Visions Productions, painted the side of the building. IVP teamed with technical producer SenovvA, to produce the massive"Red Bull Mind Meld" video mapping installation, which covered 29 (264feet-high) stories of the InterContinental® Miami from sundown to midnight the three nights of the Ultra Music Festival (March 23, 24, 25).
Integrated Visions Productions produced more than 30 custom 3D animation modules, integrating cultural and extreme sports footage from the Red Bull content pool into the projections. SenovvA, the technical solutions and production company that provided gear for the recent Oscars telecast, managed the projection.
